Minimal Design was founded in 2017 with a singular conviction: that architecture, at its finest, is an act of restraint. From our studio in Ankleshwar, we set out to create spaces that honor their surroundings, serve the people within them, and endure through generations.
Over the years, our practice has grown to encompass landscape design, interiors, and visualization — yet our philosophy remains unchanged. We believe every project begins with listening: to the site, the climate, the light, and most importantly, to the aspirations of those who will inhabit the space.
Today, our multidisciplinary team brings together architects, landscape designers, interior specialists, and visualization artists who share a deep commitment to craft. Together, we pursue a quieter kind of beauty — one found in honest materials, considered proportions, and the interplay of shadow and light.
Ar. Saurav Desai is the Principal Architect and Founder of Minimal Design, a multidisciplinary design studio based in Ankleshwar, Gujarat. With a deep conviction that architecture is, at its core, the thoughtful making of space, Saurav established the firm in 2017 to pursue a quieter, more intentional approach to design.
His design philosophy draws from a belief that every space has an inherent character waiting to be revealed — not imposed. Rather than chasing trends, Saurav focuses on understanding context: the site, the climate, the light, and the lives that will unfold within the walls. This listening-first approach has defined Minimal Design's work across residential, commercial, hospitality, and industrial projects.
Under his leadership, Minimal Design has grown from a solo practice into a multidisciplinary team of architects, interior designers, landscape specialists, and visualization artists — all united by a shared commitment to craft, honest materials, and the interplay of shadow and light. For Saurav, great architecture isn't about grand gestures; it's about restraint, proportion, and creating spaces that endure.

First Design Award
Our residential project, The Courtyard House, receives recognition at the Indian Architecture Awards for sensitive site integration.

We launch our interior design practice, offering clients a seamless journey from building shell to finished, furnished space.
25th Project Milestone
